Message from the Chair of Governors

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our school.  Carlton Primary is a warm and welcoming community, and the Board of Governors is proud to be part of it.

Our Governing Board is made up of parents, staff and members of our local community who bring with them a variety of knowledge, skills, and experience.  We work closely with Mrs Bevis and the staff to ensure the best for all the children in our care. We are committed to maintaining and improving the very high standards of the school and we achieve this by helping to set the school’s strategic direction, whilst ensuring that it meets its statutory responsibilities.

As governors, we do not get involved in the operational running of the school, but we do contribute to the schools’ development plan as well as review and monitor important areas such as the budget, the impact of the curriculum and teaching and the progress and attainment of all our pupils. We ensure that we visit regularly and are known to the staff, the children, and their families.
